Deed of Sale between Samuel Hussey & John Turbeville Marion District South Carolina Sam'l Hussey to John Turbeville South Carolina Marion District Know all men by these presents that I Saml Hussey planter of said state & district aforesaid for and in consideration of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid by John Turbeville planter of said district do bargain sell and release and by these presents have bargained sold and released unto the said John Turbeville all that plantation or tract of land containing fifty acres lying on the east side of Catfish Creek bounded south by John Bryan John Husseys land west by Wm Turner lands north by R. B. Platt and east by Osburn Lane lands together with all and singular the said premises unto the said John Turbeville his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors and assigns to warrant and forever defend the afore mentioned premises unto the said John Turbeville his heirs and assigns and against all person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof Witness myhand and seal Dec 20, 1846 Signed Sealed & Delivered in the presence of William Turbevill Samuel Hussey Charles Taylor South Carolina Before me personally came Wm Turbeville and Marion District after being duly sworn saith that he saw Samuel Hussey sign seal and deliver the within deed and that Charles Taylor was also a subscribing witness with himself Jan 1, 1842 Wm Turbeville Hugh Moody Magt. South Carolina I do hereby certify unto all whom it may Marion District concern that Mary Hussey, wife of the within named Sam'l Hussey did this day appear before me and being privately and separately examined by me did declare that she does freely, voluntarily and without any compulsion dread or fear of any person or persons whomsoever. I do hereby renounce, release and forever delinquish unto the within named John Turbeville his heirs and assigns all her interest and estate and also all her rights and claim of dower and singular the premises within mentioned and realeased Given unto my hand and seal Jan 3rd 1842 B.
